Come on, let go of the remote; don’t you know you’re letting all the junk flood in?

I dyed my hair yesterday (finally)... =D
For any readers outside my facebook friends... here is the colour =D gorgey no?  It's darker at the top where my natural hair has grown in and lighter where there is the last remains of a previous bleaching times... but it's pretty *is happy*

Hello

So I forgot to wishlist yesterday... whoops. It genuinely slipped my mind.

So here for one (hopefully) week only!

TRAVELLING THURSDAY!

 Fair Parieeeee

First place I would like to go. It's a standard I know but there is something rather classy about it, at least in my mind. They have art and landmarks. I'd have to brush up on my very poor French though, although apparently they all speak English there anyway =p

Norway =D

Look how beautiful it is! It would be simply marvelous to trek a little over there. Just gorgeous! I'd probably go on a cruise across to there and pray that I don't get seasick! At least the first time I would.

Not just another cruise!

Nope this isn't for the travelling, for the different scenery or for anything aside from music! This is a photo taken from The Rock Boat that is, from what I hear, a five day cruise with almost non stop gigs played. Sister Hazel (they host it =D) play there every year and are often accompanied by; Aslyn, Carbon Leaf, Vertical Horizon, Tonic, Ingram Hill, Better Than Ezra and other such wonderful acoustic/alternative rock. It sets sail from Florida and has a different destination every year. I really really want to go, I'm hoping to save up enough money to make it next year (this year's one is this month ¬¬)

Mmmm snow =3 (altered photo because of possible broken linkage)

Ok last one, and it's another stereotype. I want to go visit New York. Specifically New York in winter. I want to see their Christmas lights, the snow in Central Park (picture) everything! It's just one of those places I've wanted to go for a long time. Apparently it's also really awesome at Halloween with the Halloween Parades they have there, they're huge!

Ok so enough of me drooling over pretty places that I want to go to and a review of a different kind!

Yes be shocked! L-R Chie, you (in my case Reki Xi) and Yosuke (BROsuke =p).

So I've started playing Persona 4. It's a Squarenix and Atlus game. Ah, Squenix you say! The Final Fantasy people! Yes, in short, but it is a series I haven't heard much about before. I've about 5 hours in and if you fancy playing this game I can give you the important beginning overview that is very important if you fancy playing this game.

The first 3-4 hours are almost completely interactive cutscenes.

Ok, that doesn't sound too good now does it? SE have an issue with making games that has become rather apparently since they started working in the FFX era of games (PS2+). They really really seem to want to make films instead of games. Films, animes etc. It's a small issue if you are a casual gamer like me. I'm ok with the fact they aren't doing too well in the gaming aspect of their games because everything else makes up for it but if you really like it to be a game and are ok with losing some of the really good story elements then this games is not for you. At all!

Interactive cutscene: it's in game graphics and you are having conversations with the character's (you choose their name so mine is a slightly unmanly Reki Xi) friends and associates. It's great for detailing plot but bad if you are looking to get straight into the action.

Simple opening plot? You have moved from a city to the small town Inaba where you are staying with your uncle, a detective, and his small daughter, who seems to do all the housework and shopping... it's a bit weird. You make friends with some of your new classmates and a rumour goes around about something called "The Midnight Channel". There are also some weird murders going on.
I don't want to give too much away, if you don't care to play it but wish to know more read wiki pages or something. If you want to play it go get it.

Aside from the interactive cutscenes, that I forgave because the plot is really immersive and interesting, there is one other aspect that some people may not enjoy. You join a school club (two if you are me and trying to balance everything at once) and get a job (which often provides money) and you have to increase your stats through interactions in these tasks. Knowledge, expression, courage, diligence, understanding. If these are two low then certain things are not available to you like conversations and other jobs. Everything takes time and you have to do people saving whilst balancing an average high schooler life. You can only do one activity in the hours after school and one activity (aside from checking the weather) in the evening that can be done at home or are a job. It seems like it will be a hard time getting the balance right, especially when people are telling you that you have a club to attend on the same day as another club that has also just told you that you should attend... but it's creating a different game style to the standard RPG style. I enjoy trying to make my characters better in these things so I'm really enjoying it, but it is another aspect that people should be wary about when starting this game.

I can see that I shall really enjoy this game, the characters are nice and not at all annoying. Everything seems to have a level of depth that is unusual in a lot of games now. There is humour especially at the beginning.
-He seems hurt
-You should leave him be
*walks off quickly*
The soundtrack is pretty funky, mostly being Japanese style pop and rock but with some interesting incidental scoring too. Graphics are mostly 3D anime with cut scenes being completely anime (the really pretty kind).
It's dark but still has wonderfully bright colours.

It sure is worth a look in if you know someone who owns a copy (thank you again Danzel) or if you can pick it up cheaply. It's also worth a look if you already like the Squenix games because really it is very SE. Just be forgiving whilst you wait for the game to let you play it.

I'll let you know how I get on with it =) but no spoilers ^_0

Yes it's all false love and affection. You don't like me, you just want the attention.

So I've been making costumes today for the show I am in at the end of the month. 4 of 6 skirts are done. It's quite scary work because I get worried that I haven't done something right or that I should have done this or that. It's because it's not something for me, it's for my Gilbert & Sullivan society. It's their money. Scary. We're doing The Grand Duke this year as our main show. I don't really understand the plot too well but there are weddings, plots, overthrowing of power, confusion and lots of singing. Thankfully G&S doesn't change very much regardless of what you are doing. It makes me happy. It's all rather silly and that is awesome. Those who read this and know me should come see it. Those who read this and know me but are in the show already... good, make sure you are there =p

Back to costumes, I'm only doing the pinning sewing though, I've got mama doing all the cutting for me. I'm way too scared to cut things out. Things go wrong at that stage and that's the scary part. I'm terrified of cutting fabric. It's very permanent. I like sewing though. I like taking, in this case, two pieces of fabric sewing down a side and doing a couple of hems, wack a piece of elastic in and voila! A skirt! It's so easy and wonderful and there is that sense of satisfaction you get when you've done a thing and it looks as you wanted it to. It can be stressful and horrible when it goes wrong but when all is going well it's marvellous.

Something I did see this morning, whilst settling in front of the sewing machine (I'm not that slow at sewing ,I just like to take lots and lots of breaks), was an interview on T4 with Gerard Way. Now this was good because it reminded me on the matter that I am going to see MCR very soon =D but something that was really sweet as they were asking him on if he was good at wooing people and how he would woo them (as it's valentine's day soon and their band is MCRomance ¬¬ it was bad jokings) and he went practically the same shade as his hair. Guys who blush are really cute =3. He got all embarrassed and said 1. They would have to ask his wife and 2. it is a secret.

Some images so you know who he is in case you don't.
I personally find him a bit tasty =) nom.

Linking in from his beautiful red hair, I have, of those who were following previously, finally been able to order my atomic pink hair dye from special effects. Never used these people before and it was more money than I normally spend on hair dye (£11.70 inc. p&p) but hopefully it will be good. Mind you though red is rather tempting. Red looked good on me when I used it last time but no, pink for now and then we shall see where we go. I promise to put up some nicely camwhored photos on here when it's done.
I am yet to show you my new hat. Damn, and my hair is nasty today. I'll try and remember to take a photo tomorrow with it on. I personally think it's rather cute anyway and I am a major fan of the things in life that are cute. ^_^

I should really get on with sewing but a review before I go back to the grind.

La Roux: La Roux

Ok there had been a lot of hype around this lady. This album was released at a similar time to when Lady Gaga was making waves in the industry and people were really into the electropop side of the charts. Now this is not such a bad thing in my opinion. I love electropop and the genres surrounding. It's up beat, dancey, generally pretty happy (at least in the sound) and makes me think of summer. These are all good things.
This album isn't bad, it's just it's nothing special to me. I wouldn't skip the tracks if they came on during a playlist or on shuffle but there wasn't anything that instantly jumped out at me and said "play me now and again later and again soon!" it was all nice enough but nothing that made even the artist stand out to me.
It was a shame but like I said, it wasn't bad. There were a couple of tracks that I really enjoyed (Tigerlily, Bulletproof and I'm Not Your Toy) but maybe it needs more time. I'm mostly doing these reviews without the time aspect that it takes for an album to become great. Over time the new MCR album has become even better than my first reviewings. But I enjoy doing my first impact review, how the album hits me the first time I hear it properly. I like knowing that I have listened to an album all the way through and then when it comes on again being able to hear things I didn't before.

Anyway. Good album if you like electropop.

32/100

I just projected over your beautiful scream

So Sick Puppies was actually amazing. The lead singer is bonkers and I mean that in the nicest possible way. I have never seen someone enjoy their gig so much, and with good reason! Their gig was rocking. They are well worth watching if you enjoy rocky metally sounds. Their bassist, Emma Anzai, is amazing (and female) and pretty good looking.
They didn't play White Balloons but it would have been weird with the set they did play if they had. It would have made things disjointed and mellower than the mini moshout and energetic gig that we received. Shimon Moore's (lead singer and guitarist) energy was infectious and he really made you feel like you wanted to be there.
I now have their last two albums (even
though Tri-Polar isn't released here yet, they were selling it in their merch =D) and both are signed. This makes me very happy =) we got to talk to them a little bit, let them know that we enjoyed it so much. Just wonderful.

Live music is the best!

Sick Puppies: Dressed Up As Life

I was worried that this album might not be as good as Tri-Polar. You know when you have listened to an album (in preparation for a gig or just in general) and it isn't their first album? I always find that breaking out their previous stuff can be a little risky. Will it be as enjoyable? Will it be more so than the tracks you have come to love more than you thought you might?
This album is definitely their Australian sound but it is by no means something to worry about. It is certainly a good solid album and I shall enjoy listening to it like I did their most recent one. If you like a good little rock out you can't go far wrong with these guys, I'm now biased towards them of course but really, give them a shot.
They also do a good "Say My Name" (Destiny's Child) cover that is, if nothing else, pretty amusing. Get a live version on the youtubes though and listen to his wonderful spiel that he gives before songs. He's a little rude, a little crass but with his cheeky feel you don't mind too much.

.5
(It'll be a 5starer once I listen to it a bit more =D)
20/100 (If I keep going like this I will have finished my challenge by the end of April =p)

I've been thinking of dying the front section of my hair pink... or red but I reckon it's most likely going to be pink because I can rock that colour. I just miss being... more colourful. Part of me recognises the fact that I still need to grow up now but you know what? Enjoy life a little as well! So after I finish the Gilbert And Sullivan production I am in by the end of February (sadly it is after the MCR gig and I would have loved to have my hair done before then =p) because I dyed my hair before one of their shows before and it was a little difficult to hide the aqua greeny blue that was in my hair. Especially when it's meant to be about aristocracy and from a different time period to now, whoops =p
So I'm being nice this time... although I wish I could just do it now!

Oh well =D

Bless your face
